Apple seems to have some issues with their Store. I tried to register as an iOS Developer willing to pay 79 EUR. But in the end of the process i landed at the US Store which says: “Page could not be found”. Waited some days… still no luck. But Google to teh rescue: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2770033&tstart=0 There are some links to purchase the iOS Developer Program imho for UK, FR and DE at least.
Hey followers, just a little side note. The Slick2D contest starts rolling. Currently we have 5 Magicka Steam-Keys for the winners.
BTW: There is a Slick2D Group on Facebook. Come on and join us
So, after a severe failing on Ulule i just get up again and started to develop a new idea. “Never give up”… This time for the iPhone / iPod Touch. It’s a small casual game with some puzzle elements. I haven’t seen that kind of game in the AppStore yet. Sometimes it’s very disappointing as a one man army, but what you doesn’t destroy makes you only stronger as we say in good ol’ germany. Expect some updates and some Screenshots in the near future.
Just a quick note to everyone
I’m trying out crowd-funding for my next project: From Outa Space (They Come). The project is hosted on ulule.com.
Short description what “From Outa Space” is:
From Outa Space (They Come) is a retro like 2D arcade shoot ‘em up. Inspired by the old-school Space Invaders game it adds new enhancing gameplay elements like Power-Ups, 360° of movement, upgradable Weapons, Boss Aliens, beautiful retro pixel graphics and much more.
Oh ya… i’m planning to release it for the iPhone.
BTW: I’ve published a gameplay video from the very first prototype on YouTube. The Prototype is written in Java and uses teh awesome Slick2D binding.
GameJolt held an Indie-Demake-Contest. My entry was a de-make of Crimsonland, called Bugland. You can play it online in your Browser or offline.
BTW: Checkout Warning Foregone, it’s an awesome de-make
If you haven’t heard about ConK, well check out my new Micro-Site. There are some videos on YouTube and some screenshots. But what’s ConK?
ConK is a minimalistic Space Real-Time-Strategy (RTS) game, inspired by Qonk and Galcon. Currently, you can play it in your Browser (Java 5 required). It’s easy for testing / updating and distribution during alpha- and beta-phase.
There is a lot of work to do
At the moment you can play versus a computer AI ( Hint: Don’t wait too long, expand quickly ). I’ll update my progress here.
Just a little update after a while. We launched a new website for JQuiz aka QuiBuzz (sorry, german only). If you’ve a question, just add a comment below. The software is fully customizable via XML.
For me it is very hard to create some art assets, because it is definitively not my passion. But with some tips you can create some nice stuff, no commercial like assets but better than some rectangles and circles
AngryOctopus wrote a little Tutorial about this.
So, here you go:
Part 1 (Procedural / Random)
Part 2 (Drawing)
Do you ever wanted to know what your MacBook Pro is made of? Well, have a look here. Just awesome
Over one month without blogging. Time is passing by very fast in the last few weeks. I’ve a lot of work which need to be done here in Cologne. It is a big project for a german insurance company. This reminds me of a song by Muse:
By the way, i just bought the book “Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3.0 Unleashed“. It has nothing to do with Java. XNA is a Game-Framework für Windows PC and XBox 360 written for .NET (C#). But there are some nice examples you can learn from.
Happy coding @ll
